Exporting to DCC

I’m primarily a Maya artist and wanted to be able to use my finalling scripts so I decided to export the simulation parts and final in there. I wanted to explore the shape editor and add that to my workflow.

The setup to export the simulated geometry was again laid out using the same ideas as the sanity checker. I would bring in the cache from the vellumIO simualtion, mainly to give me the version I was looking at.

I organised my outputs in the formats I thought would be the most common. It’s very handy to layout a few ROP drivers, with the destination paths coded, you can quickly kick out a format depending on your needs. Again, the colour red was used so I knew that these would require a closer inspection and settings that would be changed from time to time.
