Post Visualisation

Creative exploration and research was the key. The confines of the shot and the sequence dictated the general flow. I still wanted to investigate the motion and how the Charger entered and exited the frame.

The first step in my process was to clean up the animation curves from the roto animation pass. The roto was rough, so I smoothed out the trajectory of the Charger while keeping the crash.

I also added lights to push the look of the visualisation, the lighting would be handled by Unreal but I like to try and make the Maya pass as pretty as possible.

The concept was purely a study on enhancing the vehicle motion from the original shot. I wanted to extend the screeching turn so the Charger veered over to the right of the shot and gracefully slide through frame.

The original shot length was 63 frames, as a result, the Charger doesn’t completely leave frame. Something which could easily be addressed by extending the clean plate.

The shot is pretty quick and the light inside the car is very dark but I wanted to add a little life to the digi doubles.
